After an incredible ten-year run honoring Michael Harris and developing the Michael Harris Fund at CHC, The Children’s Health Council and the Harris family have decided to pause the 2026 SteelMike Shootout Tournament this year.
We are deeply grateful to the Harris family, the SteelMike Shootout Committees, Menlo School, the many volunteers, players, sponsors, donors, and every attendee who made this event so meaningful year after year as it grew. Your generosity, dedication, and spirit built something truly extraordinary.
Together, the SteelMike Shootout community and CHC have raised nearly $1.8 million to expand access to mental health services for local teens and families, including CHC’s RISE Intensive Outpatient Program, therapy services, dialectical behavior therapy groups for teens, and educational resources for parents and educators.
While the tournament is paused, the Michael Harris Fund remains a vital part of CHC, continuing to carry Michael’s legacy forward alongside this incredible community.
For over a decade, the SteelMike Shootout brought people together to create unforgettable memories rooted in friendship and community. From the competition on the court to the conversations, laughter, and connections in between, the moments shared at this event will stay with us for years to come. Thank you to everyone who helped make the SteelMike Shootout such a meaningful tradition.

The SteelMike Shootout honors the life and legacy of Michael Harris—an inspiring young man who was a beloved basketball coach and counselor at Menlo School. Michael was passionate about supporting teens and pursuing a career in adolescent psychology. This annual tournament brings the community together to celebrate his memory and champion the cause he cared deeply about: youth mental health.
